POV's "Food, Inc." National Broadcast and Potluck Campaign A Smashing Success

May 19 2010 - The national broadcast premiere of the Oscar®-nominated documentary Food, Inc. on April 21, 2010 at 9 p.m. on PBS' POV (Point of View) series jump-started a national conversation about the food we eat, where it comes from and how we can consume a more healthful, sustainable diet. POV partnered with viewers, bloggers, journalists, public television stations, schools, community groups and eco-friendly companies to promote screenings, discussions and potluck parties; the Food, Inc. website streamed the full-length film for an additional week and conducted a National Potluck Campaign inviting people to host a meal, watch the film, talk about the issues and share their stories. Fifty people in 22 states and Canada have been selected to receive free gift baskets with products from corporate sponsors | »

POV Announces Short Video Competition "This is My Family" for National Adoption Day and National Adoption Awareness Month in November

Nov 3 2010 - In celebration of National Adoption Day, and National Adoption Awareness Month, POV is partnering with organizations, individuals and filmmakers across the country to collect video stories from the general public that expand the definition of "family." POV is encouraging PBS stations, adoption awareness organizations, foster care organizations, LGBTQ organizations, schools, community groups and viewers to produce short videos about what "family" means to them and to submit their videos to POV by November 15, 2010. | »
