Strategy & Goals CAMPAIGN STRATEGY In 2003, P.O.V. launched an extensive public awareness campaign to capture the attention of community organizers working on prisoner education. Policy makers, civic leaders and the general public were also targeted to increase the public discourse about battling recidivism. Through the collaborative efforts of P.O.V. and Outreach Extensions, What I Want My Words to Do to You was made available to dozens of organizations to screen for their constituents. These groups included The Fortune Society, the Women's Prison Book Project, the Center for Law and Justice and the New York Department of Education's Office of Adult and Continuing Education. To maximize coverage and create a national dialogue with recognizable personalities, P.O.V. developed an innovative partnership with playwright/activist Eve Ensler and actresses Glenn Close and Rosie Perez to develop a series of press and promotional activities.
