In honor of Women’s History Month, Mason County District Library and Ludington Area Center for the Arts is screeningCutie and the Boxer as part of a film series celebrating women artists. The 2013 POV film is directed by Zachary Heinzerling and captures the lives of two artists united by a dedication to art-making for a touching meditation on the eternal themes of love and sacrifice. The film focuses on the chaotic 40-year marriage of the boxing painter Ushio Shinohara and his wife Noriko and features original artwork by the couple.
