About the film:
In New York City, homeless queer and trans youth of color make Christopher Street Pier their own, forging friendships and chosen families. Creating a space where they are all welcomed, these charming and eloquent youths withstand tremendous amounts of homophobia and abuse while working to carve out autonomy and security in their lives. With intimate, immersive access to these vulnerable yet fearless protagonists, Pier Kids highlights the precariousness and community of a side of New York City many choose to ignore.
Premieres on PBS on 8/2/2021
