Screening & Panel at DCTV

February 4 | NYC

AmDoc and DCTV continue their co-organizational partnership into the new year with a special invite-only event at their renowned Firehouse Cinema. Robert Salyer, Marlea Willis, Doug Truong, Sabine Yamin, and Cayla Clements join community partners and Between Goodbyes director, Jota Mun for an invite-only event in collaboration with partners and local organizations celebrating adoptee voices and experiences including Adoptee Film Fest, KAAN (Korean Adoptee Adoptive Family Network), AKA NYC, BIPOC ADOPTEES, Asian Women's Giving Circle, NewFest and DOCNYC. Following the screening there will be a panel moderated by Angela Tucker (Founder and CEO of the Adoptee Mentoring Society), and includes Alexandra Mann (founder & director of the Adoptee Film Fest), and activist/writer Pauline Park will be on the panel along with Jota.

Black Joy, Black Freedom!

Screening & Panel at DCTV

February 15 | NYC

Robert Salyer will lead an afternoon screening and panel discussion along with colleagues Claire Epstein, and Philip Han. The special community gathering takes place in their renowned Firehouse Cinema. Black Joy, Black Freedom! will feature Songs of Black Folk and The People Could Fly from POV Shorts Season 8 followed by a post-screening conversation with special guests from the film teams and Juneteenth NY to reflect, discuss, and celebrate! DIY Marketing Workshop

February 15 | Virtual

AmDoc’s own Anna Graizbord brings her marketing expertise to lead a “DIY Marketing: Promoting Your Documentary on a Shoestring” virtual class for film teams looking to brand and position their films without breaking the bank. In this insightful workshop she’ll share ways to raise awareness, reach audiences and elevate the profile of film projects, sharing tips and tools for effective and cost-conscious film marketing when the dreams are big, but the funds are small. European Film Market at Berlinale

February 12-18 | Berlin, Germany

Carmen Vicencio will attend the European Film Market, one of the key meeting places for international film and media industries. Positioned in the heart of Berlin’s creative community, the EFM is an important hub for connection and engagement stimulated by their close affiliation with the Berlinale Film Festival which forecasts new projects, business models and an overview of global film for the year ahead.

Big Sky Documentary Film Festival

February 13-22 | Missoula, Montana

Opal H. Bennett is heeding the call of the mountains to attend the 23rd iteration of the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, one of the premier venues for non-fiction film in the American West. Renowned for its premieres, industry gatherings, retrospectives, pitch sessions and showcases, the idyllic location provides a stunning, if not inspiring, backdrop for connection and convenings. Opal will be a featured speaker at the DocShop 2026: Resilience & Longevity conference which will address the forces shaping the contemporary documentary landscape.
