POV Film The Mole Agent Recognized in Documentary Feature and International Feature

New York, N.Y. -- February 9, 2021 --POV is proud and excited for the film team of The Mole Agent for being shortlisted in Documentary Feature and International Feature categories as announced earlier by the 93rd Academy Awards®. This is an important industry honor that testifies to the extraordinary resonance of the film and its powerful message about aging, empathy and community.

The Mole Agent joins a number of other films in the documentary and international features categories from among an astounding 238 documentary films which were submitted for eligibility this year in the Documentary Feature category, and films from 93 countries were in consideration for the International Feature Film category. When a family grows concerned for their mother’s well-being in a retirement home, private investigator Romulo hires Sergio to become a new resident and a mole inside the home. Sergio struggles to balance his assignment with his increasing involvement in the lives of other residents.
