Objectives

Students will be able to:

- Define the concepts of Historical Memory, Collective Memory, and Indigenous Knowledge

- Explain the role of Indigenous Knowledge, oral history, visual art, music, and storytelling in shaping historical narratives as depicted in the film, The Song of the ButterfliesUnderstand the impact of historical bias in academic study of indigenous cultures

- Compare diverse sources to develop a more complex understanding of Huitoto cultural history then present what they have learned to their peers
